Teenage Poem

This is a teenage poem that I have written recently and it was just for my amusement but then I decided why not share it with others. While I was writing this teenage poem, it brings me back to when I was a teenager. That feeling of being young again just lifts up my mood.

Teenage Poem

Me as a teenager

I love being a youthful teenager,

There is just so much things to do,

To feel young and free just like a beaver,

Forever mischief the things that I do.

Then comes my mother

The yelling from my mum does not bother me,

As it has become a daily routine,

A routine so lame as the eye can see,

Immunity kicked in, it’s just routine.

Never forgetting about my sister

My sisters’ shrill, a very painful one,

Every teenager’s dream to rid of one,

But reality sets in, as she’s the one,

With lots of goodies from her dearest one.

My brother the boss

Ah! This one the most stubborn of them all,

To cross his path is to stand in darkness,

I think he never had much fun at all,

So sad but true, he likes the dullness.

Daddy the magnificent

He may be small but don’t judge him yet,

His voice commands the house with authority,

But with you I can place a bet,

Between me and a game, gambling is a priority.

Barbecue Tip

Listed here are barbecue tips that I would like to share. With these barbecue tips that I have come up with, I hope your backyard barbecue picnic will be much more pleasing. I have always enjoyed a backyard barbecue especially on a Sunday afternoon.

Barbecue Tip 1
Separate uncooked meat and other uncooked food until they are cooked - This is to prevent bacteria from uncooked meat to transfer to cooked food.

Barbecue Tip 2
Keep cooking area clean - Keep it clean and keep the flies at bay. Try not to leave trash around as it may be easily picked up by the wind.

Barbecue Tip 3
Avoid burned or overly cooked food – I do not think it taste good at all :)

Barbecue Tip 4
Do not eat undercooked food – May contain unwanted bacteria.

Barbecue Tip 5
Clean grease build-up – Use a fine wire brush or similar to brush off barbecued residue on grill.

Barbecue Tip 6
Smoke for better taste – If you have a smoker, make good use of it.

Barbecue Tip 7
Heat distribution – Balance the heat distribution evenly to ensure every corner of the grill gets heated up.

Barbecue Tip 8
Marinate – Marinate if possible a few hours before barbecue to get better taste from the meat.

Laughter Is The Best Medicine

"Laughter is the best medicine" is a phrase I bet many of you have come across. But is this true? Is laughter really the best medicine?

The best I am not sure but a good medicine for me – I believe it to be true :) .A good laugh always brightens up my day especially when I feel drained out. A funny joke or even a funny picture is enough to get the “medicine” working on overdrive.

I was browsing on http://www.scribd.com/ the other day and came across something very funny. I had a good laughter and I decided to share this so called “medicine” with you all. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. It is titled “They didn’t study”.

Between the skies where the birds fly away,

Life Is Like A Game Of Chess

Ever noticed the similarities between a chess game and the game of ‘life’? Some would not call ‘living a life’ as a game but I consider it very much so but only to a certain extent of course. It gives me much of a reason to do better in life, to win every game in every situation possible. As in a chess game I sometimes lose but that is not a problem – I will just look forward to a rematch.

Patience, strategy and sacrifice happen to be the three key points that determines the success of a chess game, which is not very different from how we live our lives.

Patience – Stay cool and do not rush into making a decision. Think wisely and play the game right. Think wisely and live your life right.

Strategy – Plan multiple moves ahead as you need to plan for the future. Without a strategy would be like the Knight without his stallion.

Sacrifice – At times we make sacrifices in life in order to achieve our goals just like a pawn is forgone in order to falter the opponent’s defenses.

Those who have yet to try a game of chess, I encourage you to do so as to me it brings a whole new meaning to the word patience. Playing chess has increased my sense of patience and I hope it will do the same for you.

Apologize And You Will Feel Better

Apologize – it may only contain nine letters but it holds a very powerful characteristic within itself. Apologizing will make you feel better as it gives you a feel good sensation. It has the ability to save a relationship and/or friendship.

If you have offended, insulted or even hurt someone unintentionally then by all means please apologize and lay your heart to rest. Please do not carry the guilt, as it will only ruin your day. Life is short and it needs to be lived to the maximum. Do not waste it by feeling guilty and depressed in fear of losing a relationship.

Lose the ego and do what you have to do in order to save the friendship and/or relationship. Make the first move and be humble. Apologizing to enemies and rivals may be the hardest thing to do but if they have a soft spot, your enemies and rivals may even end up being your friends.

Yesterday happens to be my day off and I thought of checking out a few blogs, but sadly enough today is also the day my ADSL line went down for unknown reasons.

Here I am sitting in front of the screen musing of what to do then I remembered I needed to create a header for a fellow blogger. What better a time than now I said to myself.

The Love Poem

A love poem brings much love and serenity to loving couples. If you have never written a love poem for your loved one then it is about time you started. Writing a love poem brings no harm and gives much joy, to both the loving couples actually.

Don’t ever worry about it going wrong for if the love is there, the intention is understood. You may get a laughter or a little chuckle but who cares….after all it is only a private moment between you and your loved one, when you share your poem of affection :) .

I myself am definitely not good at poem writing but I write whatever I feel like. I too had my share of awkward moments when I recite a love poem to my loving partner but it still does not discourage me from writing love poems.

Until the day I master the art of writing love poems, my partner will just have to cackle and hoot to her hearts content.

A Tip To Being Happy

Happy? Of course I want to be happy in life, as a matter of fact everybody who is in the right frame of mind wants to be happy. And that includes you, I think :) . So what is the key element that brings us much happiness? I am not sure about the others but for me it is all in the attitude. It is my positive attitude that makes me a happier person.

Watching the birds fly up in the sky brings elation,

Watching the sea rush to shore brings delight,

Having a stroll by the beach brings romance,

Having a positive attitude in life brings happiness.

If we were to have a positive outlook on the things at hand then more of our worries will become less of a burden. The fewer burdens we carry, the happier we live our lives. A negative attitude will only bring you down and stress yourself out.

It may be hard at first, but with a little practice once in a while you will get use to it. As time progresses, there will be a happier person inside of you.

Countless as far as I can remember,
The time that we have shared,
The moment that we have spared.
Always with a little cuddle.

It is what makes a difference,
That little cuddle,
Bringing me closer to you,
Touched by a miracle,
Never wanting to leave you.

You are my light - my cuddly delight,
Just like a teddy bear,
I will cuddle you tonight,
Squeezing tight with much excite,
Knowing it is part of love’s enchantment.

We do not need to question,

We do not need to know why,

We just accept the simple fact,
With an open heart and an open mind,
That the miracle of the cuddle is out there.

Amazed I am at the miracle of cuddle,

A Tip To Being Successful

Do you complain? Sure everyone does but to what extent. Do you know that complaining can hamper your quest for success? Yes, it can. Complaining does not bring anyone any benefit and neither does it make you successful. So quit complaining.

When you complain, you are only wasting your time channeling your energy to negative thoughts. Everyone faces obstacles in life, some may seem harder but having a positive frame of mind you will be able to overcome the obstacles effortlessly.

To complain is to stop and scream for attention whereas Success is to move on forward. Try to turn every obstacle into a chance to move forward and each step of the way you will be more successful. To complain once or twice is a norm but to go on and on is just like feeding fuel to a fire making the flame too big to be controlled.

How To Have An Unstoppable Attitude

Nothing can stop you.

Nothing can get in your way.

Nothing can make you think otherwise.

Remind yourself of these statements and be charged up with an unstoppable attitude. Do not let those negative thoughts take control of you and waste your valued efforts in life. While many people undermine your efforts to achieve your goals because of jealousy and negativity, don’t be discouraged. They are only people with weaknesses, like you and me.

We need to get a solid grasp on reality and move on forward. Having a good attitude has many advantages. We are able to feel more confident in tackling whatever task at hand, we are able to self motivate ourselves and we are able to live a more fulfilling life. And these are only a handful of advantages mentioned.

When you have reached an unstoppable attitude, then you will see the full potential of its power.

Let Your Desire Drive Your Success

Learn to think big. Don’t limit yourself to just being contended with what you have. What you have today may not be sufficient for tomorrow.

In order to succeed in life you need to have dreams and ambition. Do not stop yourself from dreaming your goals in life because if you do then you would have lost your sense of direction in life. Everyone needs to see the light at the end of the tunnel and if there is no light then there is no direction.

Be honest to yourself and set realistic goals. For each goal you accomplish it will give you the encouragement or desire to start another conquest and for each goal that you thought you have failed, you did not because it only builds your foundation for your next goal.

Keep the desire burning and watch your success grow. Your desire will be the one to determine your success. Dream big, but make sure it is realistic. Find a direction in life and don’t look back.

My Top Five Motivational Quotes

In life we all need some form of motivation one way or another. Some gets motivated by work, some by the books and so on. It is always good to have a motivational guide to help us in our journey of life. I normally refer to quotes as my motivational guide and here are my best few.

It would be nice if some of my readers could adopt one of these quotes as their motivational guide.

1) Don’t crack under pressure.

Yes this is one of my favorites among all. I got this from an advertisement by a swiss watch manufacturer in a local paper a very long time ago. Often in life we are put under tremendous stress and pressure from work and our daily lifestyle. I would always try to remind myself not to give in to the pressure but to overcome it.

2) Challenge what the future holds.

I motivate myself to move forward in life with this motto. I cannot remember the origin of this phrase but this is has been etched in my mind till today making it my no.2 choice. We must be bold to excel in life and by not being afraid of the future gives us the confidence to move on.

3) Success – it’s a mind game.

This phrase is also picked up from an advertisement but from a glossy magazine. When I first saw this phrase it didn’t quiet make sense to me being how naïve I was back then :) . Yes I admit I was, and maybe still am naïve. But as time goes on it starts to sink in. To be successful it is all about the decisions we make in life. It is a mind game. What we choose to do today may very well change the direction of our lives. We play the game right, we live our lives right.

4) To be or not to be.

I remind myself with this quote whenever I am undecided. Let’s say an example to be a blogger or not to be one. If I choose to be one then I will try at least my best to deliver my set goals in life that is being a blogger in this example. Having this quote in mind helps me make decisions a lot easier.

5) Success is never final.

This one I got from a t-shirt which I was using. Only four words but means a lot. Today we may be successful but tomorrow is another day. If you are filthy rich it does not mean you are successful. You are successful only if your set goals are being met. If you have a million dollars but your set target is two million then you have not reached your success level.

Those were the days

I was single back then,
Not knowing a thing about love,
I was deprived of a companion,
Not knowing how to love.

Those were the days

She was living a simple life,
In a town far, far away,
She was filled with unselfish love,
In passion would be shared some day.

Those were the days

At a little train station,
I stood so hungry and cold,
At the stroke past eleven,
I gathered my courage bold,

“Excuse me Miss” I said with a tattered voice,
“Say no more, for it is written in your eyes” came the sweet reply.

These are the days

On the soft green grass I stare above,
Freshly cut the scent so sweet,
Over the years, ten years had gone,
Forever thankful the time well spent.

These are the days

The bluest sky she has seen above,
Admiring the beauty as calm as can be,
The time had flown, like never before,
Always thankful for there is more.

These are the days

On my side she lay,
So peaceful and placid,
Old memories never gone away,
Softly she breaks the silence around,

Life Is Very Unpredictable

life is very unpredictable. One moment you think it is going your way and the next it takes a swing for the worse. But this is what makes life interesting-the ups and downs, the trials and tribulation.

Let us sit down and think for a moment ……..

Without these little obstacles, life would be monotonous. Yes that’s right, I’ll say it again-m o n o t o n o u s. I would scream it out with all caps but that would not be nice :) .

At times we as human beings need to grow our minds and mentality. And the best way we can achieve this is to go through some hardship. A little hardship does not hurt but it will spur our imagination and emotions to a very healthy level.

We must always look on the positive side of things and any obstacles which come our way needs to be tackled wisely. If you think that you are out of luck…… how about the millions and billions of people in this whole wide world.

Are they luckier than you?

Are they richer than you?

I thought so. Wherever we are there is always someone above and below us. I have realized one of the best ways to tackle a problem is to “take the bull by the horns”. We should always accept life as it is and that obstacles in life will always be around. By doing so we are always prepared for the unforeseen.

I’ll say this again-Life is Unpredictable. We live it, we love it and we make the best of it. Handle one problem at a time day by day and you won’t even know it is there.

Live life to the fullest.
