Those were the days
I was single back then,
Not knowing a thing about love,
I was deprived of a companion,
Not knowing how tolove.
Those were the days
She was living a simple life,
In a town far, far away,
She was filled with unselfish love,
In passion would be shared some day.
Those were the days
At a little train station,
I stood so hungry and cold,
At the stroke past eleven,
I gathered my courage bold,
“Excuse me Miss” I said with a tattered voice,
“Say no more, for it is written in your eyes” came the sweet reply.
These are the days
On the soft green grass I stare above,
Freshly cut the scent so sweet,
Over the years, ten years had gone,
Forever thankful the time well spent.
These are the days
The bluest sky she has seen above,
Admiring the beauty as calm as can be,
The time had flown, like never before,
Always thankful for there is more.
These are the days
On my side she lay,
So peaceful and placid,
Old memories never gone away,
Softly she breaks the silence around,
“Excuse me Sir” she said with an innocent tone,
“Say no more, for it is written in the skies” came my serene reply.
“I will love you - till the end of time”.
